The Elma Barnett Children’s Centre Kamonong is a non-profit Christian NGO in Kenya. It is also registered as a community based organization (CBO) in the Rift Valley Province. It exists to carry out the Biblical mandate to care for children from non-functioning parents, who are able to attend normal schools, by providing housing, education, health care, protection and training according to Biblical teaching. This will be done in conjunction with the Kenyan government, local community, churches, overseas donors and other supporters. Currently there are a total of 66 residents, 30 primary and 20 secondary pupils, 9 college, 2 working in college attachments (internships), 3 in polytechnic schools and 2 temporary placed primary children.
Elma Barnett Children’s Centre-Kamonong is located within area of Orine/Kapsatek in Rongai District (formerly Nakuru District).
Our mission is based on faith and the belief that children will be cared for in a place of refuge and safety. They will be provided with opportunities to do useful and meaningful tasks that will build self worth and responsible behaviour. They will be taught to care for others and be encouraged to think of the needs and concerns of others. That all children and youth have a right to Love, Respect and Genuine Concern.
